About Us
Women’s Initiative Lesotho (WIL) is a registered grassroots, women and youth-led collective committed to advancing gender justice, climate justice, accountable governance, sanitation and hygiene etc in Lesotho. Rooted in feminist and people-centred values, WIL’s leadership and membership are primarily rural women, youth and communities who have lived experience of injustice and systemic exclusion.
Our Mission and Vision
We envision a world in which women and youth are empowered for sustainable development and to equip women and youth with innovative skills, knowledge and awareness for sustainable development.
Structure and Leadership
WIL is organized as a participatory collective. Decisions are made democratically in regular member assemblies, with rotating leadership to ensure broad participation. The initiative is coordinated by a core team of rural women leaders, supported by community-based volunteers across Lesotho’s districts.
